We invited our Senior Choirs from all over the city to join the Maritime Museum in its annual Light Up the Harbour celebration.
On December 12, 2024 we arrived with 47 kids and their parents to help with the festivities. Catherine Campolin, our Choral Program Director led the kids. Dave Dagta our pianist kept the whole team in sync!
It’s important to realize that all the singers were sent the songs to learn at home, and not all the singers have Miss Catherine as their conductor. In the wet and cold with festive hats they brought cheerful music to the whole neighbourhood.
Our huge thanks to the Maritime Museum team, who were so helpful with set up and – from the kids’ perspective – putting forth some awesome hot chocolate!
Shout-outs to the Senior Choirs from Beasonsfield Elementary, Crosstown Elementary, Elsie Roy Elementary, Hudson Elementary, L’Ecole Bilingue, Lord Kitchener Elementary, Lord Selkirk Elementary , Lord Tennyson Elementary, Maple Grove Elementary, Queen Mary Elementary, Renfrew Elementary, Simon Fraser Elementary, Trafalgar Elementary, and Walter Moberley Elementary.
Here are some samples of what was sung:
Jingle Bells
Let It Snow
Silent Night Solstice Version
Winter Wonderland
Happy Holidays from the Vancouver Extracurricular Music Society!
